Thermal Halo Surface Disc

Thermal Halo Surface Disc turns changing outdoor conditions into visible physical cues that are easy to check at camp. Check relative surface heat before placing cookware or sitting.

Design Overview

The Weather Trace Tools collection uses mechanical movement, color response and simple shadow geometry to supplement routine campsite observation without depending on a phone screen. Within this system, Thermal Halo Surface Disc is focused on check relative surface heat before placing cookware or sitting.

Why It Works

• Visible condition cue: Three concentric thermochromic silicone rings respond at different temperature bands.
• Low-complexity interaction: The disc doubles as a trivet, with raised radial feet that keep the indicator surface visible.
• Intended planning role: Check relative surface heat before placing cookware or sitting.

Materials and Construction

The material system is selected to support the product's transforming architecture, field handling and packability.

• High-temperature platinum silicone
• encapsulated thermochromic pigments

Field Use

Reset or align the indicator before use, place it in the specified orientation, and compare its reading with current forecasts and direct observation. Recheck whenever conditions change.

Care Instructions

Keep sensing surfaces clean and dry according to the material, protect moving or color-responsive parts from abrasion, and inspect calibration marks and attachment points before each trip.

Important Use Information

Relative indicator only; always use appropriate heat protection and handling tools.
